Method 1: Cancel Existing Prints

Canceling out any remaining print jobs from the print queue can also help you to clear the printer memory. For this, you need to navigate to Devices and Printers section under the Settings app and then right-click on the printer with which you are facing problem.

Then, tap the See What’s Printing option which will display the print queue on your screen. You can check the documents waiting to be print. On the Printer menu located at the top, click on Cancel All Documents button. This will clear any remaining print jobs from the queue and free up some memory space. In short, you have to follow the below-mentioned steps:

  • Click the Start button located at the bottom-left corner and then type “printer” into the search box. Then, click “Devices and Printers” from the list of applications.
  • Double-click the printer icon with which you are facing a problem. This will open the print queue.
  • Select and right-click on all the print jobs one by one and click the “Delete” button to erase them from the print queue.

Method 2: Restart the Printer

Restarting the printer will definitely reset your device and clear its memory by canceling any active print jobs. All you have to do is shut down your printer and unplug it from the power socket. Leave it for two to three minutes and then again plug it into the power socket.

This process will fully free some memory and erase all the pending print jobs. Once the process is successfully completed, turn ON your printer and wait until it is started. Once done, give a new print command to check if it is working properly.

Method 3: Cold Reset
